Peter Dinklage
American actor Peter Dinklage overcame every obstacle to start one of the most unique careers in Hollywood history. A native of Morristown, New Jersey, he was born with the genetic disorder achondroplasia, which is a form of dwarfism. He studied drama in college but had trouble finding work during his early career in New York. His first break came in "Living in Oblivion" (1995) playing an obnoxious actor opposite Steve Buscemi. His career continued in fits and starts, although another turn with Buscemi in "13 Moons" (2002) kept him on the industry's radar. Dinklage was finally given the chance to show what he could do with a starring role in Tom McCarthy's "The Station Agent" (2003). Playing an introverted character being drawn out by Bobby Cannavale's outgoing hot dog vendor. The actor earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination for the role. While mixing in stage roles, he soon filmed a cameo that would exponentially increase his profile. Playing Miles Finch, the children's author who battles Will Ferrell in "Elf" (2003), he found himself part of a soon-to-be holiday staple. Work started coming steadier, including a starring role in the short-lived sci-fi TV show "Threshold" (CBS, 2005-06). He appeared in Sidney Lumet's "Find Me Guilty" (2006), and had a recurring role on the drama "Nip/Tuck" (FX, 2003-10). He also appeared in a pair of big budget family films, playing the villain in "Underdog" (2007) and appearing as Trumpkin in "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" (2008). His true star turn would come when he was tapped to play Tyrion Lannister in the television adaptation of George R.R. Martin's fantasy novels. The resulting "Game of Thrones" (HBO, 2011-19) became a cultural phenomenon that catapulted Dinklage to a new level of fame. The role earned the actor three Emmys and a Golden Globe. Between seasons of the hit show, he worked regularly in films. He co-starred in the Adam Sandler comedy "Pixels" (2015) and the Robin Williams drama "The Angriest Man in Brooklyn" (2014). He also stepped into the popular superhero genre with supporting roles in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" (2014) and the blockbuster "Avengers: Infinity War" (2018). Dinklage joined Frances McDormand and Sam Rockwell in the Oscar and Golden Globe-winning drama "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" (2017). The actor also produced and starred in a biography of "Fantasy Island" (ABC,1977-83) star Herve Villechaize in the TV film "My Dinner with Herve" (HBO, 2018).
