Audience Member Loved this movie as a kid, have to rewatch Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/02/24 Full Review jwcdood SAINTS AND SOLDIERS really works as a realistic WWII combat and drama flick. Too bad there aren't more of these made; all three of the series are good and I'd recommend them to anyone. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/22/23 Full Review colin m A not very interesting low budget unfocussed slow-moving movie about relationships between a group of soldiers behind enemy lines in WW2, as they encounter, intermittently, the enemy, and acquire a new objective. We didn't get to know the characters, so we weren't made to care much about what might happen to them. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The most astonishing thing about this film is the fact that it is a top-quality film that was made by producers, crew, and actors whose names are unknown in Hollywood. After watching the movie on DVD, I watched the featurette about how it was made. I can hardly believe that a film as good as this was produced on a budget of under a million dollars. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Mark S Outstanding story. Ted Fry, you communist bastard, you know were you can shove it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/13/21 Full Review Audience Member Saints and Soldiers is a 2003 Indie-War film directed by Ryan Little. The film stars Corbin Allred as Nathan Greer and Kirby Heyborne as Oberon Winley. The story I found to be gripping and intriguing, from the character arcs to the ending, but if I had one problem it would be that the first act was a little drawn out. The acting I found to be strong and realistic, especially Corbin Allred as Nathan Greer, I felt that he gave it his all and ended up giving a very good performance. The characters were also strong and realistic, but I personally didn't like Kirby Heyborne's character Oberon Winley. The cinematography was steady with a few beautiful shots of the scenery, but nothing that really stood out to me. The sets and costumes were detailed and realistic, especially with the main characters and the abandoned houses. The colour and visuals were two of my favourite aspects of the film, from the bleak but still beautiful colour scheme to the harsh and cold reality of the film. The action and effects were also well done, especially in one scene toward the beginning of the film. The film did also have some very strong and eerie atmosphere, especially in the first and second act. The film I did find to be very gripping, but I don't think that I'll be watching it again any time soon. Over all I give it a 6/10 - would recommend Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
