Brynn T Sam's Son is a mostly forgotten 80's schmaltz-fest with a somewhat cliche plotline of father not-getting their kid who breaks convention back in the day (long, hair, gasp!). The film is saved from being unbearable by the earnestness of Michael Landon and Eli Wallach. This is what keeps it from being completely forgettable, despite having seen it once, 40 years ago.
