Critics Consensus

Sandy Wexler marks a mild improvement from the Adam Sandler vehicles immediately preceding it -- which in no way serves as an endorsement for non-hardcore fans.

Adam Nayman Cinema Scope Wexler isn't a particularly good movie, but it's mesmerizing all the same, projecting a strange mixture of heartfelt homage, reactionary nostalgia, lowbrow integrity, and contractually obligated indifference. Sep 28, 2017 Full Review Richard Brody The New Yorker There's no way to recommend it, yet I wouldn't ask for my two hours back (though I do wish that they could have been sped up somewhat). Apr 17, 2017 Full Review Peter Debruge Variety Though Sandy Wexler comes from a place of genuine affection, it feels oddly cruel. As depicted, Sandy isn't just oblivious, but borderline incompetent. Apr 17, 2017 Full Review Josh Larsen LarsenOnFilm The celebrity cameos range from the expected to the embarrassing to the downright baffling... Rated: 1/4 Oct 31, 2018 Full Review Sean Mulvihill FanboyNation.com Sandy Wexler is a bad movie, yes, but it's not at the level of bad that made me actively hate it like I did with Sandler's last two films. It's a step up for Sandler, but that's only because he's fallen so low. Rated: 1.5/5 Oct 31, 2018 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews Adam Sandler's almost impressively steady spiral into irrelevance continues with Sandy Wexler... Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/16/23 Full Review David F An okay insider Hollywood comedy about a terrible agent with a heart of gold. Enlivened by a lot of very funny cameos from some big stars. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/25/23 Full Review Wade W This has to be one of Sandler's worst outings. His voice is super annoying and obnoxious. I couldn't even get to the end. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/16/23 Full Review Alexander G If you like Sandler, his role as Sandy Wexler is a must see. If you hate Sandler, you probably won't like this one either.
