And next to him is his best friend and companion...Pete." In the 17th century Saint Nicholas and his companion Pete journey from Holland to the New World where they would face obstacles as they make new traditions and continue to bring a message of peace and goodwill to the world. On the present day Grandpa Nichols is spending his first Christmas alone as a widower and his grandson Pete is riveted by his grandfather's story of St. Nick. As I was looking for more Christmas movies for me to enjoy I recently came across Santa And Pete although I had no idea what it was going to be about or if I'm ever going to like it. But it was the appearance of the deep-voiced, Emmy Award-winning James Earl Jones (alright, Darth Vader's narrating us a Christmas story!) that brought in my viewing interest, and when I saw his acting performance he appeared to be a great storyteller. Scenes of historical context throughout are nicely made in order to present how familiar holiday traditions came to be in a fun and entertaining way. It is the dramatic tone of the storyline that makes the movie more interesting. I've been long familiar with Santa Claus and I knew a "Black Pete" was also existent in Dutch folklore; now I see that Pete appears to be a friendly guy and in here he happens to be played by Flex Alexander in She's All That. Also, for his appearance Hume Cronyn did his impressive acting performance playing the perfect Saint Nick. :) Santa And Pete happened to be a great movie and better than what I expected, and overall I can say that it's a story so special and it can be passed from generation to generation when more people would hear of it. Everyone should share the magic of how a grandfather tells the story, and you'll see how a heartwarming message is to be brought all over the world. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Hume Cronyn does a fantastic job as a wise and wonderful St. Nick. Worth watching for a different Old World spin on Christmas. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member It was a great christmas movie. Trually one that will turn a non beliver into a beliver. The stroy is just one of those that makes you feel the spirit of christmas. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member James Earl Jones is in it, but, it's still not good, it's not even a good Christmas movie. The Santa Clause 3 - The Escape Clause, is 3 times better then this Christmas movie. Why would anyone let their kids see this movie?
