Frank Scheck The Hollywood Reporter J.M. Buris' debut feature severely tests the limits of how much mediocrity viewers will accept in exchange for some forced holiday cheer. Dec 20, 2019 Full Review Tania Lamb Lola Lambchops An Irish-themed Hallmark movie, Santa Fake was too much gimmick and not enough substance. McGinty has a beautiful voice, but even that couldn't save this film. Rated: 2/5 Dec 26, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Wow! when I decided to watch this movie I thought it was going to be a heartfelt Christmas comedy. Instead I got the biggest dumpster fire I have ever seen. It is a combination of every classic Christmas movie only without the actually good parts. Also it refuses to actually pick a genre. It is a crime/ action/ comedy/ romance/ musical/ holiday movie and the worst part is that every genre has its own plot so nothing is coherent or even slightly relatable. I am no expert but I can tell you that the editing of this movie is weird. I'm not going to say bad but it didn't help with my opinion of the movie as a whole. Also since it is a musical (I guess) wtf is up with the sound mixing. It all sounds like it was done by teenagers in a garage at 2 am. As a Santa Fean I would like to say that their portrayal of our culture and town is annoyingly stereotypical at best and offensive at worst. I would like to end this rant by commending these amazing actors for doing their best when the director and author gave them literally nothing to work with. All I can say is don't watch this movie unless the only entertainment you are expecting is the complaining that will last the whole 1 hour and 26 minutes of your life you will never get back. (Congrats to those who made it this far!!!!) Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Mr. Mcginty's role as the fake Santa Clause was EXHILARATING. The impromptu singing sessions were a perfect Christmas touch especially considering how wonderful Mr. Mcginty's voice is. I throughly enjoyed this glee reunion between Brittany and Rory. The Glee Cinematic Universe is beautiful and Santa Fake is a wonderful addition. My only complaint is that Chord Overstreet wasn't here to be Rory's Christmas Sponsor. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Great FAMILY movie! Funny scenes, great soundtrack! No gratuitous sex or violence. Make it your yearly tradition as you add it to your holiday collection. :-) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Awful movie. Very hard to follow and horrible acting.
