Inspired by Captain Gopinath's book 'Simplifly' and multiple other true stories from the world of entrepreneurship and aviation, Sarfira tells the story of Vir Jagannath Mhatre, the son of a teacher in rural Maharashtra who sets out to achieve the impossible -- making the common man fly. By defying all odds and persistently pursuing his vision, Vir takes on the most capital-intensive industry in the world and revolutionizes air travel in India with the help of his family, friends and sheer will power. This is a uniquely Indian story of grit, determination and Jugaad, of an underdog challenging the socio-economic fabric of a system entrenched in class, caste and power dynamics.

Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express This is what happens when the film is mainly interested in fronting its hero. It isn’t as if Akshay Kumar, who is in practically every frame of the film, is actively terrible, but there really isn’t a single thing he does here that he hasn’t done before. Rated: 2.5/5 Jul 12, 2024 Full Review Ishita Sengupta OTTplay Sudha Kongara’s Sarfira is the Hindi adaptation of Soorarai Pottru, the hugely successful 2020 Tamil film she directed. Several actors from the original reprise their roles and the screenplay is almost scene-to-scene identical. Even the flaws are repeated Aug 19, 2024 Full Review Sarah Manvel Movies We Texted About The rapport between Miss Madan and Mr. Kumar has enough bite to counteract the many spoonfuls of sugar in the script director Sudha Kongara co-wrote with Shalini Ushadevi. Anu A V This movie is very different from the previous Akshay Kumar movies. The story takes over the hero, it’s a very interesting story that is real. Nail biting. Gripping, and must watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/04/24 Full Review Mark K Its an art piece of emotions and openness of what one must endure in his fight to achieve his dreams... Nice movie overall Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/20/24 Full Review Shailendra K Akshay soars high in this inspirational tale which unfortunately failed to take off at the box office. Sarfira is a great movie with a terrific real life story and a solid performance by Akshay Kumar. Unfortunately another victim of the online trend of hate towards remakes in Bollywood and Akshay Kumar without even considering the quality of the movie. Like most Hindi movie audience I have not watched the national award winning Soorarai Pottru which is most likely a much superior movie. But unlike most Hindi movie audience, I have now watched Sarfira and absolutely loved it. I think the reason the movie still retains its original DNA and emotional punch is because of the original writer, producer, director and some common cast. Kudos to Sudha Kongara for doing a great job retaining and replicating the movie's core soul. Paresh Rawal is perfect as the filthy rich, influential and arrogant aviation entrepreneur who is pitted against the ambitious protagonist of the movie played very well by Akshay and is his polar opposite. Radhika Madan and Seema Biswas are good in their respective roles. The movie even gets blessed by Suriya who was the producer and lead of the original through a nice Cameo at the end. These are the kind of movies that deserve an audience. Heartwarming, well made stories that represent the best of society, with good acting, direction and content. Soorarai Pottru means Praise the Brave which doesnt exactly mean Sarfira (Crazy).....something gets lost in translation and just like the title, the movie's success and appreciation doesnt translate well despite its quality. This is a movie definitely worth watching with Akshay delivering a top notch performance like the days of his back to back social dramedies just a few years back. Loved it. 8/10. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/15/24 Full Review Triveni K The way dialogues are written with such an emotion , the humour, the effort makes this as 5 star...and Akshay pagi you're the best you don't make any altu faltu movies...that is why I'm a huge se bhi huge fan of you... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/14/24 Full Review A K This is a complete blunder movie starting itself is so crap imagine an aircraft landing. At airforce airport and Akshay can reach very heroically to runway with all doors open by airforce. I wish they could have visited airforce gate once they will know and realise what shoot to trespassing means Complete blunder Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/11/24 Full Review Audience Member watch full amazing movie online on https://glamcinema.com/ Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/18/24 Full Review Read all reviews
