Ian Buckwalter NPR Sweet and well-intentioned, Sassy Pants is difficult to dislike, despite its missteps. Rated: 6/10 Oct 25, 2012 Full Review Stephen Holden New York Times Until "Sassy Pants" loses its nerve and turns somewhat warm and fuzzy, Ms. Sohn maintains tight control of the story of Bethany's liberation from her domestic prison to pursue fashion. Rated: 3/5 Oct 21, 2012 Full Review Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times Although it attempts a kind of outr pose, the film ultimately proves a too-gentle juggling act that never quite soars. Audience Member Slight, but enjoyable. A young girl lives at home with her flaky mother and obnoxious grandmother. Her gay father has left and her mother insists on homeschooling her and her brother. Shows her finding her independence and all the little set backs with first jobs and life in general. I liked it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Heart-warming film about teenager and their parents, but the story is a little slow for me. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review don s Slice of life indie comedy featuring a knockout performances by Ashley Rickards and an eye-opening Haley Joel Osment. This is a life in the doldrums for certain. Rickards plays Bethany with the right mixture of innocence and determination to make something better of herself. The story situations are somewhat ludicrous, but the overall effect is watchable. Give it a shot. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member muy divertida, excelente historia y con un muy buen mensaje Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Simpy loved it. It was a good mixture of comedy and drama. I see it more as a chick flick though. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Slight, but enjoyably goofy dysfunctional family/coming-of-age comedy. It's about home-schooled 18 year old Bethany trying to find her place in the world, while getting out from under her divorced mother's oppressive eccentricities. The main point of interest may be Haley Joel Osment (an Oscar-nominee for 1999's "The Sixth Sense"), as her dad's high-energy younger boyfriend. He and the rest of cast are fine, but the movie overloads on zany characters and feels too much like a sitcom. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Read all reviews
