Steve Novak (John Derek) is great at football, but not so great at studying. Still, he manages to get a scholarship to a prestigious college. At the school, a wealthy booster (Sidney Blackmer) sees to it that Steve doesn't have to worry about studying as long as he keeps winning games. But when Steve gets hurt, his wealthy backer abandons him. The booster's young niece (Donna Reed), however, does not. With her by his side, he works to recover from his injury and buckle down on his studies.
