After Satya (J.D. Chakravarthy), an earnest young man who came to Mumbai, India, in search of work, is thrown in jail for a crime he didn't commit, he must delve into the depths of Mumbai's criminal underworld to survive. Fresh out of prison, he meets a beautiful singer named Vidya (Urmila Matondkar), who is repelled by the gangs that afflict her neighborhood. To win her heart, Satya decides to conceal his criminal dealings from her, which grows more difficult as a brutal gang war heats up.

Actually better than God Father. A cinematic Marvel, the best thing about Satya is that it moves ahead with every scene and is very fast paced. Best gangster movie of all time in any language.

Satya is along with an on the edge of seat hard-hitting thriller, an untypically insightful journey of a man in the dark underbelly of city, who turns to crime because of circumstances but still remains a man whose heart beats the same as it does for an average bloke who has desires to beat circumstances and live a life unmarred by conflicts and dressed in familial love.

"Truth" is regarded as the first Mumbai noir. In contrast to RGV's later works D and Rakht Charitra, this one still has the masala standbys of comedy, romance, and music videos. Quite dated now, it was critically acclaimed, won 13 awards, and inspired numerous movies. The most well known in America being Slumdog Millionaire.

Synopsis
