Khloe D A masterpiece in demonstrating the transformative nature of love and believing in someone. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/02/24 Full Review J M I talk a lot about this movie, but I realized I haven't really watched it in years. So I decided to throw it in the DVD player recently and see how well it holds up. I discovered that it continues to be a miracle of a movie about which I am unable to offer any objectivity whatsoever. It remains for me one of the greatest family movies ever made, and I was a blubbering mess when it was over just like I was the first time in the theater with my brother and grandparents nearly 40 years ago. I refer to it as miraculous because it contains elements that I normally find repugnant - cute kid, exaggerated physical comedy, sentimentality... but I don't care. This film has cast a spell over me like few others ever have. And I think it's because the love that has gone into creating SAVANNAH SMILES is undoubtedly evident, a rare kind of love that you only witness every once in awhile if you're lucky. This is THE WIZARD OF OZ to me. This is THE SOUND OF MUSIC to me. I shall accept and understand the condemnation of those who don't share my enthusiasm, but I think it's that one movie that came at the right time and the right place that will always remain sacred in my heart. And for that, I am now and will always be unapologetic. - Jeff Marshall, Movie Blogger (Facebook) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/24 Full Review Audience Member Wow, can’t believe I had never seen this one amazingly good yes I will highly recommend it James Welch, Henderson, Arkansas January 12, 2023 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review kirsten w I loved this movie when I was a little girl. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/28/21 Full Review andy h It has a 60s look for an 80s movie and the premise may not be well received today; but dammit, this was swell fun anyone with a heart can appreciate with little Savannah.
