      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Dragged down by a plot lacking any sense of logic and obnoxious, unsympathetic characters, this comedy is more crude and mean-spirited than funny.

Dave W This IS a genuinely funny movie. The horrible reviews by critics show that critics have the most pointless, meaningless job on the planet. They have bad taste and try to make others believe their horrible opinions. This move it great. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/15/24 Full Review Melinda B This movie is tragically under rated! So funny and 90s silly. Watch it if you love silly laughter and Jack Black being awesome! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/31/23 Full Review sean r hilarious movie, watched it 20+ times Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/03/23 Full Review Derek S I love this movie, I've throw up from laughter on several occasions enjoyong this flick!! "You've been pinching loaves on the lawn... I play croquet out there man"🤣🤣🤣 Underrated on Rotten Tomatoes, in my opinion💁‍♂️ Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/15/22 Full Review art s With all the comedic talent involved its hard to pinpoint why Saving Silverman seems to come up short so often, but I will say it does have it's decent share of laughs. The idea must of looked good on paper - Jack Black (comic genius), Steve Zahn (he's good in everything) and Jason Biggs playing straight man - with Black and Zahn trying to save Biggs from his wench girlfriend. Sounds funny right? Eh, sort of. Black and Zahn are fine, its just the execution of the movie that fails. Biggs character is so pitiful and clueless its hard to even care if he's stuck with the witch (played well by Amanda Peet). Frat boy shenanigan's occur as the plot goes all over the place, with many failed jokes. Check this one out on a rainy afternoon, be glad you didn't see it in theatres. http://themoviepad.com Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is hilarious. It doesn't take itself too seriously and takes advantage of it. It will make a Neil Diamond fan out of you. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Joe Morgenstern Wall Street Journal It's basically a cheerful slob job, one of those slapped-together features so often embraced by teenagers with more disposable income than discernible taste.
