Josh A This is basically the prologue to the franchise. Saw 0, basically, but it's 0.5 because decimals are cool I guess. And it's quite good. I'm uploading this first, but I'm writing this after seeing Saw 1. I'll wait until I've seen Saw X to start uploading reviews for the movies. This is basically a combination of Adam and Amanda's scenes in Saw 1, but more like Amanda's experience. We don't get much information about who Jigsaw is or what the puppet is for, only that he's trying to kill people and there's a hint to his true nature with the interviewer asking if David is grateful. Just a great short film. For every Saw movie we watch, I'll write down my favourite trap in the movie. Due to there only being one trap in this movie, it's the reverse beartrap. It's a very tense scene and introduces Jigsaw's games well. Overall, a great introduction to Saw that feels like a prologue, with the 2004 film being Chapter 1 of our so far ten chapter story. I think the short film with the same title tells a creepy little story effectively in just under ten minutes. I think it is truly so inspiring that a short film like this spawned a whole franchise that is still going to this day, regardless of my mixed feelings about the franchise as a whole. Ultimately, it is a great reminder that short films can be impactful and can lead to so much, and for that reason, I think it is worth seeking out for fans of the first movie.
