Stefan Birgir Stefans sbs.is The acting is mostly mediocre, although Lacey Chabert could have become a Scream Queen if she hadn’t devoted her life to wedding themed Hallmark films. Rated: 2.5/5 Aug 16, 2023 Full Review Paul Chambers Movie Chambers Oh, no! Not another Syfy movie! Yes, kids. If "Scarecrow" seems familiar, you probably saw it on TV. Now, it's on DVD and can't say it got any better. Rated: D- Feb 27, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews

Cam N Well, thank christ I only paid $1 for this in a store close down sale... With a plot thinner than a coat of paint; stock, 1 dimensional characters whose only reason is to die in very "meh" ways; an average-looking CGI villain that's shown way too much and a flat, nothing ending made flat by what I can assume is all the remaining money got spent blowing up a "set" meant for demolition anyway. When you notice the scarecrow is made of vines.... you realise it's only dangerous until someone grabs a spray bottle of Glyphosate and weedkills it's ass. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/23/24 Full Review Dave S When a high school teacher drags six students serving detentions to a remote farmhouse rumored to be the site of some horrific murders, mayhem predictably ensues. Scarecrow is a strange melding of The Breakfast Club and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and is every bit as bad as it sounds. To be fair, the special effects are actually pretty decent, but beyond that it doesn't have much to offer. The acting is terrible, the dialogue is embarrassing, the story is painfully predictable, the ever-present music score lingers like a bad smell, the POV shots grow tiresome, and the production values are like something out of a Hallmark movie. Really, you're much better off just watching The Breakfast Club and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre instead of wasting your time on this junk. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Poorly paced, badly overacted, pointless garbage. The movie is packed to the brim with generic characters making never-ending stupid decisions, with a feeble run time of 80 minutes that will be the longest 80 minutes of your life. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review jon c It's not the worst straight to tv horror trust me I've seen worse It's low budget so you can't really expect a masterpiece from something like this A simple premise and they get right to the crux of things A teacher takes a bunch of students in detention to repair an old farm. The town they live in thrives on a scarecrow festival held for hundreds of years and on the scary legend of an evil one killing people. Little do these students know that the stories are true as a cursed black scarecrow starts picking them off one by one. It almost seems unkillable. I like that it gets right to the bloodshed. Some of the CG is lackluster and you don't get to know any of these kids. The big saving graces are Lacey Chabert and Richard Harmon. To be honest I didn't even mind Nicole Munoz since she didn't act shrill like most of the others. The chase never stops as this monster stalks everyone everywhere they go. The only way to stop it is to bury it but how can they do it exactly? The gore is good, the kills are grisly, yeah it looks inexpensive but thankfully the likability Chabert and Harmon keep it from completely sinking under. The movie passes the time is the best I can give it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Landon J I shut it off after 30 minutes. Its a cheap B class horror or C class if there is such a thing. It just feels so cheap. It's as if a high school class actually made the movie. Lousy story and poor acting. I love horrors but refuse to waste my time on junk. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/07/20 Full Review Audience Member This is a pretty stupid movie, but Lacey Chabert is in it and I did about pee my breeches when we see the creature come out of the woods for the first time. Extra half star for Lacey and pee. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
