Free spirited and cheerful Arkie (Jillian Nguyen) lives with her adoptive octopus father, Blister (Rob Collins), on a flourishing, colorful peninsula. Together they help regenerate plant life using their magical tentacles, with the help of friendly mechanical bees powered by sunrays. That's until space bandits invade and kidnap Blister -- so that an evil scientist, Dr. Maybee, can use his powers to sap the planet's lifeforce and discover the key to immortality. Can Arkie rescue Blister in time to save her home from devastation? A wonderful and visually stunning movie based on the illustrations, comics and vinyl toy designs of the great Nathan Jurevicious. It delivers a fantastic story with remarkably unique characters. Artificial Intelligence. The voice cast throughout is surprising and terrific, and the animation style, like the characters, is creative and fascinating. I found the start of this film and its story slightly uneven and strange, but as I progressed, I couldn't help but be drawn in. Arkie's journey and major reveals in the finale felt unpredictable, leaving me feeling rewarded as the credits rolled. See more Giorgio G 11/15/2023 Contrary to most modern animations which are pricipally crappy, without any depth and very simple designs, this one here has amazing visuals in most settings with thousands of beautiful details, unfortunately often visible for only an instant. Obviously the story is very infantil-juvenil, but if you like animation, the cool and incredible visuals might be enough to even delight you as an adult. It's a bit like Star Wars, Blade Runner, Valerian and Ready Player one, all mixed up in animation, with some parts having the appearance of Stop motion. Really well done. 6/10 points.
