In need of money for his upcoming wedding, Lenny (Jon Abrahams) agrees to help Rick (Peter Greene) with some work. The job, however, turns out to be kidnapping Jimmy (Jeff Bridges), and it's rather involved indeed. Jimmy is a noted mob kingpin, and the plan goes horribly off-track. Surrounded by Jimmy's armed guards, Lenny finds himself a sitting duck -- trapped in a van with the Mafioso as his hostage. To have a prayer of escaping with his life, Lenny will have to think fast.

Jack O I don't know what I was expecting when I was watched this. It's just a movie that is based on a true story which that you know that movies based on actual events don't get happy endings. People haven't even heard about this movie one bit. I know some people would but I don't know how this is going to turn out. This movie is boring in parts though. All two actors had to do is stay in the van because one person got run over by a vehicle and those people had to negotiate the situation that Jimmy Berg... Yeah, I really can't remember what happened. I wasn't really that into the crime investigation. Which is why this was an incredibly boring and predictable film. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Great cast, and the suspence builds nicely, until the ending, leaving too many sub-plots unfinished! Worth watching for Noah Wyle's performance alone! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member It never quite lives up to the buildup and strength of the overall cast (save Jon Abrahams-who is bad), with a muddled third act and sloppy characterizations. Still, it has enough tense moments and twists to keep things interesting. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member http://excogitatinggenius.blogspot.com/2011/09/jb52-scenes-of-crime-2001.html Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member A driver (Jon Abrahams) for some mafia-types gets in over his head when his employer (Peter Greene) is killed trying to double-cross his business partners…I think. The driver is then stuck with a crime boss hostage (Jeff Bridges) and some other very scary crime bosses vying for his well being. There is a very convoluted story-line here, and it is very hard to follow all the names, faces, and places that are referred to. I lost interest pretty quick, and that’s too bad because some great actors (Bob Gunton, Noah Wyle, Jeff Bridges) are good in their scenes, but as you know, good acting does not make a good movie. I really liked Noah Wyle’s character though, it was fun to see him be a charismatic hard-ass, he does it well. I’m not sure what to say about this movie. It tries really hard to be good, and there are flickers of moments that can be seen throughout, but this one simply falls flat. There are too many storylines, too many characters, not enough explanation of who is who, and why they’re doing what they’re doing. It is a good looking movie, the direction is engaging enough, but the story should come first…here, it comes in last. I think this movie thinks that you’re going to watch it a second time, to go back and try to catch all the little details to fill in the plot. That’s an error, because this was tough enough to sit through the first time. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Confusing movie but was very interesting. It was based off of a true story but the movie doesn't explain everything. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews
