Gloria Y This movie was very heartfelt and relatable. The main actors are sincere and well spoken. The story plot was very interesting and intrigued me to the point that I didn't want the story to end. This movie is very excellent and I will be buying it for myself! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/06/23 Full Review dannyml1993 First I wanna say that I haven't read the Jane Austen book. I discovered this movie as I am a fan of Nick Zano. My main issue with this film is the script it is very very rushed. An example is Marianne and Brandon had a relationship that started to develop however Brandon learned that Marianne had a boyfriend and ends it. Later Brandon is walking through the park when he sees Marianne breaking it off with John. He steps in when John tries to grab Marianne and punches John. Now they don't show them getting back together or anything just him helping her and a bit of flirting. However, he proposes and the film ends with the two getting married. I reminded the film several times as I thought I had missed something but no nothing. Adding in 20 more minutes to have more time to show them reconnecting even if it was a montage would have done this film a huge favor. Jumping ahead to a year later and showing her lotion business doing well and on a date with Brandon where he proposes anything would have helped but no they just rushed the ending. Now since it is based on source material I understand the ending but try to have it make sense. Additionally, I was not a huge fan of the actor who played Edward or the actress who played Elinor's performance but again it was probably more the script than them. Overall it was a decent film and I'm a sucker for a romantic comedy and enjoyed it. But go into this film with low expectations and you will enjoy it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/03/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is actually terrible. It's a waste of two hours of your life that you can never get back. Halfway through I was thinking to myself that I must be sadistic for continuing to watch it. I'll be more specific- it's poorly acted, it's a promising storyline but delivery falls extremely short, and it's basically WASPs falling for other WASPs who should have been rich and privileged but their dad got arrested. So of course, the handsome lawyer and banker fell in love with them so they could support them for the rest of their lives. No thank you. I don't mean to turn this into a race issue but it's certainly a majority issue. The truth is the country is becoming more diverse and we're tired of seeing Barbie and Ken all the time. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member I love a good Jane Austen adaption - but this isn't one. It's incredibly forced and so far removed from the source material its a wonder Jane Austen herself isn't resurrected in fury. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Read all reviews
