Scott Pilgrim is such an original film that it definitely kept me hooked throughout however unfortunately the film definitely had its low points where I was a little bored and found the sometimes washed out colours and snowy atmosphere helped edge this along too. When the film is good, its fantastic and I found some of the scenes literally had me laughing out loud. The performances are amazing, particularly from Cera who I've yet to see a bad performance from and he has great chemistry with Mary Elizabeth-Winstead. Brie Larson and Kieran Culkin also give really funny performances and deliver some amazing one liners. The special effects are unique and quite cool to watch and the 8bit-ness of the action compliments the softer and quite literal in approach love scenes that are laced throughout.

Filled with witty gags and bolstering with dazzling sequences, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World upholds its material and game-themed elements. The film is a combo-busting good time that director Edgar Wright could only pen; outstanding cast, vibrant direction, colorful spectacle and a bunch of laughs along the way easily making this another Wright masterpiece. 4.73/5

This movie requires a lot of suspension of disbelief because it is truly a comic ripped off the pages. But I truly love this movie. The second I finished watching I wanted to watch it again. Being directed by Edgar Wright it's phenomenally directed and edited, the music is fantastic and so is everything else about this movie

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is a fun, light-hearted comedy. I can see why it gets cult status. It is fun to watch (especially the effects) but disappointing relative to my expectations. Was hoping for something along the lines of Repo Man or John Dies At The End or even SLC Punk. Got the feeling this film would have worked better if it were Japanese. Scott Pilgrim could have used a bit of edge but give it a view anyways, as it is an enjoyable watch.
