John Anderson Wall Street Journal [The] film is more lament than exposé: The tone is funereal; the tears are abundant. But the evidence that the organization knew that criminals were infiltrating its leadership is substantial and goes largely unchallenged. Sep 7, 2023 Full Review Natalia Winkelman New York Times [There] are heart-wrenching moments. Unfortunately, the film fails to build on them, leaving the culture of shame and stigma that muzzled these men to hover in the air, unexplored. Sep 6, 2023 Full Review Bob Strauss San Francisco Chronicle “Scouts Honor” deserves some kind of merit badge for trying to untangle the knotty, awful mess. Rated: 3/4 Sep 4, 2023 Full Review Clement Tyler Obropta Film Inquiry At times, that more personal goal seems to eclipse the documentary’s informative objectives, but at the same time, these men’s pain and shame is the story of Scouting. Oct 7, 2023 Full Review Wade Major FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) This is an incredibly well-made documentary and the subject matter is just devastating. Oct 3, 2023 Full Review Alison Lanier Pajiba Sure the documentary leans a bit on the sensational side, but that can’t diminish the story at its heart: victims coming forward to speak about what happened to them and the voices of the people who are trying to get them some semblance of justice. Jhosep G The way this documentary shows this problematic goes straight into it. It doesn't try to hide anything or make it softer, it really goes deep into the topic and investigation. And actually leaves you wondering how much more cases there could be out there that have never brought to light. Highly recommended. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/26/24 Full Review Kelly H This documentary was so heartbreaking of the damage that arises through "sexual abuse" this term needs to be changed when we talk about children it needs to stop being sexual abuse and needs to be referred to his child rape. Maybe people will start taking the shit more serious and fucking prosecute these monsters who infiltrate and hurt, and damage live, this term needs to be changed when we talk about children it needs to stop being sexual abuse and needs to be referred to his child rape. Maybe people will start taking the shit more serious and fucking prosecute these monsters. We need to start using more action type words because this crime of raping children, destroys futures, future life, future families, future well-being, and it's being done in places with people feel the safest. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/29/23 Full Review Dan R One of the toughest watches of 2023 is 'Scout's Honor: The Secret Files of the Boy Scouts of America'. SYNOPSIS: 'Survivors, whistle-blowers and experts recount the Boy Scouts of America's decades long cover-up of sexual abuse cases and its heartbreaking impact.' This is a terrible and heartbreaking story of abuse and broken promises but it's a story that really needed to be told. It's nauseating. It's infuriating. And unfortunately still ongoing. As already mentioned this is not an easy watch by any means so be ready to experience a full spectrum of emotions. Respect to those who took part in this film and spilled their profound emotions and horrific experiences to the creators. A dark and hard hitting documentary. 8/10 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/23/23 Full Review dave d Horrifying and mystifying at the same time, this is an important documentary feature. What could be a worse combo than boy scouts and the catholic church? The toxic brew created by the scouts would even have the church blush. Anyone who sends their kid to the scouts is a fool. Final Score: 8/10 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/22/23 Full Review Meryn S Honestly, I was apprehensive about this movie, but decided to give it a try. And WOW, I was blown away by the intricate storyline, the amazing special effects and the captivating acting. If only i could go back in time and rewatch this movie again.
