Ryan Devir Film Threat It’s a movie that could be forgiven with the right ending. Unfortunately, Screwdriver falls into the Tommy Wiseau category. Rated: 3/10 Jan 17, 2024 Full Review Kat Hughes THN With a perplexing psychological mystery that Hitchcock himself would be proud of, Screwdriver is an intriguing thriller with plenty of layers to unravel. Rated: 3/5 Jan 16, 2024 Full Review Sarah Vincent Cambridge Day Director and writer Cairo Smith works well with a four-member cast and intentionally confines the action to the home so viewers will relate to Emily’s situation, which feels like an unofficial prequel to “The Handmaid’s Tale.” Rated: 2/4 Nov 20, 2023 Full Review Keri O'Shea Warped Perspective Screwdriver has decent production values, an attractive set and a lead performance which does all it can with the script, but ultimately the film needed to be and to do so much more. Hilda A "Screwdriver" boasts decent production values, an appealing set, and a lead performance that gives its all with the script. However, in the end, the film falls short, lacking the depth and impact it needed to truly succeed. If you're looking for something to pass the time, it will do. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/11/24 Full Review Tim J This movie promised to make the viewer "very uncomfortable" and it delivered that (in a creepy skin-crawling great old time cinema way) and much more. The acting was topflight, the tension built consistently as the relationships and motives of the main characters slowly revealed ...and sometimes reversed...themselves. The plot built an expectation of very dark things to come. Rented this with friends and enjoyed a bucket of popcorn. I've seen lots of Hitchcock, but never experienced a film ride quite like this one. Looking forward to the next Cairo Smith picture. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/17/23 Full Review Dave S A vulnerable young woman in a house where something is terribly wrong. The mystery and motives unfold in a gripping slow burn that keeps you off-balance until the end. Superb performances, along with excellent direction from Cairo Smith, kept the tension level high. Completely fresh and unnerving. I've never really seen anything like it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
