scott d @CatoPublius Dec 21 I was a big Sebastian Maniscalco fan for a long time. Big fan. He's really dropped off in recent years. I'll sum up: He tells a lot less jokes and stories, but curses A LOT more than he used to. Jerry Seinfeld has long observed this is what comics do when they can't come up with material or start losing their chops. A lot more blue humor, darker stuff - and it's not that funny. Just kind of gross. He used to just pepper his great performances with some funny yelling and physical humor - now it's 70% of the show - and again, not that funny. It's filler for what used to be great stories and jokes. Guy had some GREAT years, and killer bits and routines. But it's been a while since then. Not sure why, but he's coasting. I am sure he's cleaning up financially, but just not that funny anymore. See more Ann J Nov 25 Loved Sebastian for many years. But it’s hard to stay on top once you have climbed the mountain. He has become a superstar but seems to have lost touch with the reality of his audiences. Living in a million dollar home in CA surrounded by the best life has to offer somehow removed him from the masses. Perhaps he needs to go back to where he started—return to the small venues that he worked in at the start of his career. He’s extremely talented but may have lost his way.
