Eric Kohn indieWire Drew Tobia's awesomely cynical portrait of a pregnant single Brooklynite alienated from her lesbian sister and mean-spirited mother has a liberating quality embedded in its snide dialogue and perceptive look at urban eccentrics. Aug 27, 2014 Full Review Steve Dollar Wall Street Journal A black comedy that offers no apologies for its dysfunctional characters and scorched-earth dialogue. Aug 27, 2014 Full Review John DeFore Hollywood Reporter A movie whose forced outrages aren't nearly as funny as intended and whose hysterics produce hives instead of the desired catharsis. Aug 27, 2014 Full Review Bernard Boo Way Too Indie Tobia's script is overwhelming, but he scatters in enough humor to keep us from turning on the film completely. Rated: 7/10 Apr 3, 2019 Full Review Stephen Saito Moveable Fest There's a clarity to Tobia's voice, dirty as it may be in vocabulary, and if he wanted to make a statement with his debut, he's accomplished that and more. Audience Member No matter which way I look at or think about it -- I just love this twisted little movie. As a dark comedy, it works. As a study of human eccentricity it works. As a study of lesbian friendships, bonds and love set in the modern urban world, it works. As a study of a an off-beat person who may or may not be headed toward a full-on mental breakdown, it works. Most importantly, the actors bring it all to life and Tobia has crafted a unique place in Queer Film and Independent Film in general.
