This may not be the very best version of Sense and Sensibility, but it’s certainly a good one. Much loving attention has been paid to all the details that went into this film, from costumes to hair, and the cast serves the material well.

It isn’t better than the 1995 Ang Lee version, nor does it attempt to reach that level, but the acting, costumes, settings, and changes (including a Black-led cast) make it a worthy addition to the Austen adaptation canon.

This film has the quality of illustrations lifted off the pages of a book of fairytales. The characters are flawless, the costuming is vivid whimsy flirting on the fantastical, and the storytelling carries the harder edges of heartache too.

A lovely period adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility. It's interesting to see The Hallmark Channel attempt historical fiction. (I enjoyed their Sense, Sensibility and Snowmen as well as Pride, Prejudice and Mistletoe, which are basically Jane Austen novels interpreted as Hallmark Channel Christmas Romance movies.) This one borrows some ideas from Bridgerton, of course, as many of these historical adaptations tend to these days. Some of the acting is exaggerated for comedic effect. And the costumes are fairytale inspired. The music attempts to reinterpret modern songs with classical instruments (ala Bridgerton). But overall, the story is true to Jane Austen's characters, plot and theme. It's a successful interpretation of a beloved classic and an entertaining watch. Do recommend.

The acting in the movie was decent at best and the filming process was rushed. The costumes were ill fitting and poise of characters was lacking. I would have found it more favorable if the posture was more classic, the costumes were cut properly and the storyline had time to build.

This did not capture the story well, the casting was off and not true to the story. The lack of authenticity made it hard to watch. Period Dramas dont need a modern approach, they need to be reflecting the time as it was back then and not as it is or should be today.
