Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member I really didn't understand this movie, ie how did we get to the conclusion that was presented. How does it make sense? I've tried searching for explanations online but can only find reviews that talk about its ambiguousness. The acting is pretty solid and the visuals/score are great. Its a fun watch for most of the movie before it gets totally weird and confusing. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Williamson is good, but there just isn’t much here that hasn’t been seen before and done better. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/02/18 Full Review Audience Member For a low budget D list horror movie Sequence Break does offer some interesting ideas. It takes ideas from Tron, the matrix, and other similar films. It's a movie with some creative ideas. It's just a shame they're not utilized here. As a result sequence break almost feels like a student film. It's extremely low budget, with bland repeated sets, bad acting, bad dialogue , and bad camera work. Another words, it's bad all around. With a bigger budget and some experienced people behind and in front of the camera this might have been something really special. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/27/18 Full Review Audience Member I really wanted to say that I liked this film, but you have to look at the same boring sets, with the most dull lighting. And while the love story part is kinda interesting, it overshadows the main plot of the film( but it feels like a sub plot). Every now and then we get a cool effect but it’s very far and few and it just never goes far enough to be memorable. Also, we never actually see what the game is like example for the few seconds we see it. Along with that, we never find out what is so wrong with the game and why people are going crazy. But I’ll admit, it’s does get really entertaining(but that might be because the lighting changes from grey to literally anything else) and the soundtrack is pretty great. Patrick Cavanaugh The Wolfman Cometh A slimy and squishy experience that would have been even stronger with a more concise critique on technology. Rated: 3/5 Feb 6, 2021 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed Sequence Break has multiple themes and influences all layering in a way that creates an interesting story that digs deep into the psyche of its lead and doesn't give everything away or explain everything. Rated: 4.5/5 Apr 17, 2020 Full Review Joey Keogh Wicked Horror Sequence Break is an inspired, skin-crawlingly unnerving and attention-grabbing debut. Rated: 9/10 Oct 4, 2019 Full Review Andrew Wyatt The Lens The performances are clunky as heck, and a late-game story swerve feels like a failed, Hail Mary attempt to save the film from its own shapeless, repetitive, and nonsensical plot. Rated: D+ Dec 7, 2018 Full Review Patrick Bromley Daily Dead A film with some big ideas about generational malaise presented in the guise of a Cronenbergian body horror-a comparison Skipper willfully leans into, borrowing heavily from the great Videodrome, only swapping out arcade games for television.
