Not only is the idea so far out to be only fiction, it is so sadly executed that you can be pardoned for thinking Will Smith has remade Hancock, with less booze, more heart but as many powers and apparently as much grief.

...I just didn't have the heart to sit through this one in its entirety. Will Smith's performance as the lead is certainly committed, but the script didn't give him enough material to work with - much like "Collateral Beauty" several years later. The story didn't feel all that intriguing to me either, and while I give it props for originality, it still leaves so much to be desired.

If you want a heart wrenching movie, then this is it. If you are not crying by the end, then you are not human. One of Smiths most underrated performances. In fact, everyone in this movie is absolutely incredible. You can really tell that it meant something to them, or to someone they cared about. This is my 5th watch and it’s incredible how each conversation had in the movie hits different with each watch. Great movie, the critics are ignorant.

An interesting idea. Don’t really understand the harsh criticism that the movie received. Is it the best or perfect? Surely not. But while it does not explain things willingly until the end, key aspects of the plot can be guessed early on. Like the grief moving Will Smith’s character actions. Actors and soundtrack are good. As is the relationship between the two. Aspects can feel far fetched but nonetheless the film has the guts to try something new and powerful.
