Brad P This was a mostly dull watch for me but I was able to appreciate some of the campy elements; the score held my interest better than the feature. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/28/23 Full Review Audience Member How good can a horror movie about a severed arm really be? Surprisingly, very. It's a solid thriller with a couple twists that would make the crypkeeper blush. It's very low budget, but it's quite effective. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/21 Full Review Audience Member Enjoyable revenge flick about a group of men who were trapped in a cave. After weeks of starving they decided to draw straws for whom would have an arm cut off to be cannibalized so they could survive. After being rescued, someone is killing the friends one by one. The cinematography was really bad, scenes were mostly too dark to see anything. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Some people would give their left arm for a chance to explore an abandoned mine. Unfortunately, one man does just that when his group becomes trapped for days and straws are drawn to determine whose arm will be cut off to feed the others for survival. The mutilating slice is done just prior to rescuers arriving in a bitter twist. Not the gorefest that the title might suggest. Finally saw this forgotten gem years after catching it on Detroit's WXON TV 20's Saturday Shocker in the late 80's and it was well worth watching again. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member The first starts off pretty creepy, but by the end it's slow and dumb. The cave-in scene is disturbing, especially with the music and the overall 70's feel. The rest of the film goes about like any old slasher movie would. The ending is quick and confusing. It gets an A for the cave-in, but the rest of the film fails. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member This might be 1 of those movies you consider it's so bad it's good movie but I considered it to be almost boring.I kinda figured everything out in the beginning. The only thing I didn't figure out was who the killer was.The acting is terrible & the movie is just slow. The best thing about The Severed Arm was Marvin Kaplan who I found funny as Mad Man Herman The DJ but I'm also a big fan of Alice the TV show where he plays Henry the telephone repairman Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Rated: 2.3/5 Nov 21, 2020 Full Review Jacob Knight Birth.Movies.Death. There's an ample amount of blunt brutality on display, and a solid twist on who the killer turns out to be, marking The Severed Arm as a rather intriguing deep cut when discussing the beginnings of horror's more prolific subcategorizations.
