Cookie M 08/31/2023 Sometimes you have to see the movie for what it is. I enjoy science fiction be it a independence day type, or this B style movie filled with folks fighting to save the human race. Set back and just enjoy See more Chris M 09/14/2022 IMDB says the year is 2035, but the movie never mentions the year, not once. The aliens look like robots that curl up into balls. But have humanoid "Terminator" style robots too. We never learn anything about the aliens and they never speak, not even in an alien language. Plus the plan to hide forever is a stupid one. See more 05/14/2022 Personally I thought that the idea of a future Shanghai plus action is a pretty good combination. And it didn't really disappoint me with the good idea aspect. But the thing that kind of gives this movie away is the bad acting. The acting is pretty bad. But the action which is very little but when the action is there it's done okay. Not amazing but okay. What holds this movie back is the bad acting and the lack of an actually interesting story. But certain parts can be interesting to a certain kind of people. If you want a movie filled with action, with aliens, and good acting I wouldn't recommend Shanghai Fortress.
