Terrible acting to a terrible script and dollar shop props. The only conclusion one must come to is that the director has a quirky sense of humour. No one can watch this film and take it seriously. A must watch for shits and giggles. I give it five stars just because it made me laugh.

Oh boy am I a glutton for punishment! I knew when I planned on watching shark movies that there were going to be some bad ones. I just didn't know to what extent. Sharkansas Women's Prison Massacre story was different, but the acting was bad. And I like Traci Lords, but she wasn't in it enough to save the movie. A group of busty women prisoners out on work duty with two prison guards stage a escape attempt with an outside friend, but have to put their plans on the back burner when a deadly shark burrows its way from water to land to feed. Horrific effects and cheesy dialogue make this as cringeworthy as the title. Not even the beautiful stars can save this one.

Greatness comes in many forms. Sharkansas: Women’s Prison Massacre is one of those few movies that perfectly captures all aspects of cinematography. It’s suspenseful, dramatic, and above all, pure genius. The script is absolute poetry, and I’ve never seen such perfect CGI and set design. The acting may just be the best part of the film. The dignified women that star in this incredibly original flick reel you in with their old-timey looks, sop you up with their intense demure, and then get you creamy with their superb intellect. Once I started watching, my eyes were glued to the screen. Despite what the other reviews may say, this movie is an absolute masterpiece that you can put on for any wholesome family movie night.

It doesn't fair too far from a typical killer shark movie, but it does add a little flare to the shark attacks and the shark itself. Unappealing characters, not a terribly solid plot, and quite a few slow moments. It can be fun at times, but otherwise it's forgettable.
