Even a satire needs some sort of connective tissue, but there's no real narrative spine here, just soft cartilage. Go to Full Review

Nothing about Sharknado 5 is worth recommending even if you consider it to be an American summertime tradition, as so many people do. Go to Full Review

Somehow, Sharknado 5: Global Swarming pulls the franchise back from the brink and returns it to what it's supposed to be: fun to watch. Go to Full Review

[Ziering] may be wise-cracking his way through this stuff with a self-aware smirk, but look deep into his eyes and you'll see something else staring back this movie can only dream about: blind terror. Go to Full Review

Yet another horrible sequel in tired, violent sci-fi series. Go to Full Review

SkyRo P @TheMovieSearch Jun 8 Sharknado 5: Global Warming is yet another installment in the never-ending Sharknado saga. And honestly, I don’t even know why I keep watching these. Maybe it’s because they’re so bad, they’re easy to follow. Maybe it’s because the franchise somehow manages to keep the same cast together, and there’s some bizarre comfort in that. This time around, things somehow get even dumber. The movie leans into an Indiana Jones-style storyline where the characters have to retrieve a magical shark artifact from a temple. Yes, you read that right—a shark icon in a temple. It’s so ridiculous it almost defies explanation. Clay Aiken shows up trying to do a British accent—and fails spectacularly. He was awful. Then there’s John Morrison from WWE, who, surprisingly, isn’t a terrible actor. The problem is, he keeps getting cast in garbage like this, so he’ll never get the credit he might deserve. And of course, there’s Tara Reid. Every time she shows up, especially in this one where she’s wearing that weird pink stuff, it’s like watching someone try to act in a parody of their own career. She’s consistently the worst part of these films, and somehow it keeps getting worse. Look, Sharknado 5 is a disaster—but not in the fun, campy way it wants to be. It’s no better than the others. Just as bad. Just as brainless. If you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all. This one just happens to come with a fake British Clay Aiken and a shark-filled temple.
