Ben Sachs Chicago Reader The movie is somewhat monotonous, but its comic insights resonate in hindsight May 16, 2013 Full Review Tim Brayton Antagony & Ecstasy A good movie with a very good ending and very good lead performance; a very generic good movie, though. Audience Member Sharqiya tells the story of a bedouin village in the Israeli Negev that is served by the government with an evacuation order. The protaginist, Kamal, works as a guard in the nearby central bus station and tries to save his village by playing all the angles. The movie plods a long, much like the lives of its characters. But there is a strength to that life that shines through, even in the face of hardship. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member I found myself caught up in the story without realizing. It takes mastery to write something so simple and yet so engaging. The plot had a cyclical feel to it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
