Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times Salama gently, effectively examines the role religion can play in one's life and outlook versus how a secular, more free-thinking existence may offer greater latitude but not always better or happier choices. Jan 4, 2018 Full Review Dwight Brown National Newspaper Publishers Association [Ahmad] Alfishawy's expressive eyes, the winsome premise and dialogue by writer/director Amr Salama are strong. Rated: 2.5/4 Sep 19, 2017 Full Review Dennis Harvey Variety Dangles something fun, only to deliver something sober, neither angle well-realized enough to make a satisfying whole. Sep 16, 2017 Full Review Farah Cheded A Good Movie To Watch Free from the judgemental impulses of Western cinema, Sheikh Jackson is both an introspective portrait of the universal struggle of defining one’s own identity and a refreshingly nuanced look at how that experience might play out in the modern Arab world. Nov 11, 2023 Full Review Mahmoud Mahdy FilmGamed An admirably personal film that I truly enjoyed, and believed, as an accurate study for a familiar profile Rated: 8.5/10 Feb 25, 2018 Full Review Musanna Ahmed Film Inquiry The arresting visuals at their most peculiar would be my biggest reason to recommend seeing Sheikh Jackson, but it's worth watching because it's a good coming-of-age story with a nuanced depiction of faith and a strong character arc at the centre. nefasto r As I am not a big fan of God nor MJ, I cannot say I found this movie very appealing. The journey is predictable and the ending very messy. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Honestly the directing and writing had a lot of issues that couldn't simply be ignored , also the message of the movie wasn't that clever , or to put it in another way , the message of the movie isn't that powerful , it's original, but not powerful . Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a carbon copy of other movies Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Great movie! Really helps u understand what these people are like from the inside <3 I wish it was a bit longer so we get to see 'Khaled' healing from all the abuse and twisted mentalities that were around him growing up. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member An exceptional role for Maged Al-Kedwany Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member This is great , good job amr ! keep it up <3 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
