Audience Member The mortal world is riddled with sin. Buddha has assigned the Jade emperor to overrule men and keep the Earth tranquil and peaceful. For the most part, the emperor has been successful but there is still much sin and travesty. He decides to align a twelve year cycle to help stabilize mankind and has a contest between the animals to determine a champion. The champion will be assigned the first year and the leader to stabilize mankind. "We should do it on our own and not ask for handouts." Edward Fu delivers Zodiac: The Race Begins in his directorial debut. The storyline for this picture is interesting and fun to watch unfold but the overall film is a bit clumsy and not fluid at times. The animation is unique but again, not as good as some films currently out. The voices are also uneven. "The mountain is going to fall on our heads." The premise for this film really sounded interesting and I did enjoy the story; unfortunately, this felt really low budget and it was frustrating at times. It also didn't really keep my daughter's attention and I was only half hearted interested at times. Overall, this is a below average picture that I wouldn't go out of my way to see.
