      peter s Despite the cast of well-knowns and the luscious Victorian settings the whole thing is hopelessly over-acted. Pantomine villain is the kindest description of Antony Andrews's. Fine actor though he was, I don't think Edward Woodward would be anyone's first choice as Sherlock Holmes, and the same might be said of John Hillerman's Watson. The action scenes are terrible but the production values are reasonably high and a decent supporting cast prevents this from being a complete waste of time.
