Lovia Gyarkye The Hollywood Reporter Despite the hiccups, She’s the He is reliably delightful. Apr 7, 2025 Full Review Siddhant Adlakha Variety It sounds like a ferocious right wing fever dream, but the result is a meaningful comedy-drama about identity, and the confusion of burgeoning youth. Mar 24, 2025 Full Review Jacob Oller AV Club A refreshing, authentic comedy that’s talking to trans and cis kids alike in a language they’ll immediately recognize as their own. Rated: B- Mar 15, 2025 Full Review Amelia Harvey Movies We Texted About While people will come to She’s the He for the high school comedy, they will find themselves moved by the human story of two teenagers trying to find themselves. Nov 19, 2025 Full Review Alistair Ryder Vague Visages She’s the He is a successful attempt at not just carving out a space for LGBTQ identity amidst the overbearingly heterosexual narrative tropes, but also bending those tropes so they can fit into a tale of trans awakening, not the other way round. Nov 11, 2025 Full Review Andrew Murray The Upcoming Amongst all the innuendo, gross-out gags, and a satirical depiction of transgender fearmongering that’s fittingly accompanied by the camp anthem Time Warp, McCarthy delivers a tremendously touching coming-of-age comedy about friendship and identity.
