jesse d The official Japanese title for this feature length animation is Ra? Den Jun'ai no Sh?, which translates to Legend of Raoh: Chapter of Death in Love. It is a classic retelling of the original japanese story titled " Hokouto no Ken " aka Fist of the Northstar, a popular 80's Anime and Manga written by famous Japanese writer, Buronson aka Sho Fumimura. As the 1st part of a collection of 5 movies, This feature is an adaptation of one of many memorable chapters from the original story. This time focusing on a lead antagonist Raoh, the king of fists. This feature length film made as a tribute to the success of the original story, depicts Raoh during the events of the "Holy Emperor" chapter, with refreshing and modern animation. beautiful color and lighting effects vivdly capture the scenes. Character designs have been improved with greater detail and depth. Some characters have been added such as Shuga and Reina, which play an interesting part to the plot and backstories. It proves to be a aesthetically pleasing as an update or re-imagining but fails to tell a complete and significant story of its own. For a story that is supposed to focus on Raoh's perspective, it spends a great deal of time showing the fight between Kenshiro and Souther instead.
