Audience Member Exceedingly enjoyable with some great actors, most from Game of Thrones, tells the heroic tale of Northern Ireland's performance in the 1986 World Cup. Jackie Fullerton is the main tale but you cannot help but love the underdog vibe and bonus points for featuring Nottingham in the story too and many references to Nottingham Forest. Simon Crook Empire Magazine The story's crying out for underdog grit. Rated: 2/5 Jun 7, 2015 Full Review Kate Muir Times (UK) An amusing portrayal of Jackie Fullerton. Rated: 3/5 Jun 4, 2015 Full Review Leslie Felperin Guardian Erskine has to strain painfully to accentuate the positive with glimpses of trans-sectarian unity and gassy humour centred on blokes' love of beer. Rated: 2/5 Jun 4, 2015 Full Review Robert J.E. Simpson Film Ireland Magazine It's a fusion of talents and an idea of a story that ultimately don't work. A failed attempt at embracing failure. Apr 5, 2018 Full Review Nikki Baughan The List A charming celebration of the beautiful game. Rated: 3/5 Jun 1, 2015 Full Review Andy Lea Daily Star (UK) The mix of broad comedy and heartfelt drama never comes off. James Erksine's film displays neither enough grit nor enough wit.
