Calan Panchoo Film Threat What is left by the end is simply the adventure of it all: the sepia glow of the 70s, the comic’s mad genius, and his ease of generating laughs. But those laughs would be more meaningful had we been allowed to truly understand the man behind the ghost. Rated: 7/10 Aug 31, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/28/23 Full Review danielle m Can't believe I hadn't heard of Gary Mule Deer before seeing this. What a beautiful and hilarious tribute! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/17/23 Full Review Bridget S Great documentary! Interesting! Movie provides insight into the man, Gary Mule Deer. Who he is, and where he came from. Film also reiterates Gary's comedic skills, which are very funny! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/16/23 Full Review Shezad M The film is brilliant and the ending unexpected. It doesn't hurt that the doc is filled with who's who of comedy over the last 50 years. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/14/23 Full Review sean c Wonderfully put together documentary on a truly unique talent. I think it's safe to say that the world of comedy and entertainment would be very different if Gary wasn't around. Heck, he's the source of many of the jokes that make up our collective sense of humor. And the heart and humility and humanity are made evident in a very entertaining way through the fantastic storytelling of the film. Must see! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/12/23 Full Review Leon M This film is the funniest thing I've seen in a very long time. It tells the story of Gary Mule Deer, a true comedian's comedian. At first, I rented it but after watching it, I realized that now I had to buy it! It's just that good! The focus is on Gary and we hear him tell a lot of his history and road stories but the cast of characters which are interviewed make this film entertaining on several levels. There are film clips from Gary's appearances on late night TV talk shows, as well as dozens of clips from comedy clubs across the land. We also get to hear Gary relate his history of cocaine abuse and recovery, which is quite heartwarming. There are also some reenactments scattered among the way and they are spot on! Produced by Heather Wilk and directed by G.B. Shannon, this is a flawless and honest look back at some of the funniest moments I ever remember seeing on late night TV and now, I remember who was telling all those hilarious jokes and trying to imitate Johnny Cash. Produced by some very talented folks from Memphis, Tennessee, VIA Productions, LoBrow Film and Red Entertainment, I feel that by far, this is their best release! Don't miss it! Buy it today!
