Summer E I would give 0 stars just for the plot line. Who fakes having cancer?? That's unforgivable. She had so many chances to come clean and no good reason not to. Change the entire plot it could even be a good movie. I've got a dark sense of humor but this movie wasn't funny. Not my choice to watch, and I gave it my full attention in hopes it would be alright. Movie critics are right with this one. Director should have never. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/11/24 Full Review Emma W You MUST go see this movie, I truly couldn't stop laughing. The chemistry with the core group of friends is unreal, but cast chemistry can only really shine with good writing, and luckily writer/director Jennifer Cram is one funny lady! Extra stars for feeling SO seen by Cece and her research and for the old lady in the jail Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/08/23 Full Review Debbie E Anyone who has ever felt a cherished relationship slipping away can relate to this movie. The central question within this film is how far will go to hold on to something you feel is slipping away and how far is too far. This is not a comedy about cancer, rather, it is a story about the things that change as we get older, and how some things will never change. All in all, an outstanding debut for a promising young writer and director. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/28/23 Full Review Jill O I LOVED this movie!!! It is laugh out loud funny! Sick Girl is such a great story about friendship and getting older! Grab your girlfriends and watch it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/23/23 Full Review Monica T Loved it!! Funny story about friends and the situations we unfortunately get ourselves into. I was surprised to read this was a low-budget movie after I watched it. You would never know from the quality of the directing and the great cast. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/23/23 Full Review Cathy M What a great movie!! Thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end. You'll laugh. You'll cringe. You'll be moved. The cast worked great together. It's the type of movie you could watch over and over again. Courtney Howard Variety On paper, it contains admirable notions about adult female friendships and the need to maintain that vital bond. In execution, however, those stirring sentiments are tested by taxing hijinks. Oct 18, 2023 Full Review Stephanie Archer Film Inquiry Sick Girl appeared anemic in its depiction, never truly ready to commit to the humor or drama aspects of its narrative. While it has it s moments of genuine emotional connection, the film feels sluggish in presentation. Nov 2, 2023 Full Review Natasha Alvar Cultured Vultures The cast is talented and the story has potential, but the end result is merely lukewarm. Rated: 6/10 Oct 28, 2023 Full Review Tara McNamara Common Sense Media In Wren's case, she takes it too far, to a place that's so wrong, it's actually extremely insensitive. Rated: 3/5 Oct 24, 2023 Full Review Josh Bell Crooked Marquee The frantic humor clashes with the disingenuous moralizing, and even the prospect of a fatal disease can't make any of these characters endearing. Rated: C Oct 24, 2023 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue It’s not the ethically dubious premise as much as the ambivalent execution that dooms this otherwise spirited comedy about female bonding and arrested development.
