Alison Willmore New York Magazine/Vulture A bitterly funny black comedy about narcissism and the paths people attempt to take to fame. Dec 9, 2023 Full Review David Stratton The Australian In this era in which social media and the cult of celebrity are prone to combine, the Norwegian film Sick of Myself makes a considerable impression. Rated: 3.5/5 Oct 6, 2023 Full Review Helen O'Hara Empire Magazine It's not subtle, but a committed performance from Thorp and some uncomfortable truths about the nature of self-promotion making this a thought-provoking satire. Rated: 3/5 Apr 27, 2023 Full Review Francesca Steele iNews.co.uk It’s funny, in a horrifying sort of way. Rated: 3/5 Dec 11, 2024 Full Review William Stottor Loud and Clear Reviews Kristine Kujath Thorp lights up the screen as a self-destructive young woman in Sick of Myself, Kristoffer Borgli’s complex and incendiary black comedy. Rated: 4/5 Aug 13, 2024 Full Review Taylor Baker Drink in the Movies Among the most engaging films with highly disagreeable characters throughout its runtime, Borgli uses Signe to illustrate narcissism in a compelling way that brings the other s----y side characters to life in ways that Östlund's films can only dream of Rated: 80/100 Nov 19, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Maximiliano R I started watching it like "ok, let's see what it is about", and it was a great surprise. Creative, different with a great message without a dramatic perspective. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/05/24 Full Review julie b Needs more Anders Danielsen Lee, more grounding in reality, and more depth. I loved the premise and themes and wanted to love the movie, but I just didn’t. It had a strong start and some gem moments, but tbh the whole skin disease plot is the type of ridiculous that is nonsense to me rather than funny, so I was just like…okay. Needed to look to masters like Ostlünd on making satire that is more believable and nuanced. However, it has some solid shots at performativeness, narcissism, and jealousy, and shows great examples of the things you do when you feel small and invisible. Also, everyone does a very good job of delivering. I believe they believe what they’re saying so seriously, despite it being silly (say that 10x fast!!). “No one WANTS to be a psychopath” Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/19/24 Full Review Tom M A no nonsense satirical poke at our narcissistic social media times. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/28/24 Full Review Audience Member Not as good as the book. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/21/24 Full Review Fanny L Yet another over-hyped Norwegian movie. We meet a a main character who is super narcissistic and doesn't feel joy for her friends success, caught in a toic relationship with no clear explanation for why she doesn't break up with him, and instead she starts drugging herself in order to get attention and sympathy. Only to discover that the real world doesn't have much sympathy to offer. And to be frank, why should it offer it to the main character? She doesn't have any likeable qualities at all, and even resorts to animal cruelty in order to get some attention on herself because she can't stand the fact that she's just a regular person. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/13/24 Full Review KB B It started out pretty well but just got more and more strange. This lady had major mental issues and always wanted to get all the attention. I'd never want to watch it again. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/17/24 Full Review Read all reviews
