Tim B. @SlimTim0707 Dec 23 It's too bad that this movie was a creature flick because Significant Other has a ton of potential as a movie about a relationship that catastrophically breaks down while in the wilderness. You can't help but feeling that they took the easy way out. See more Jeepers C Dec 13 Man, what a great, little surprise. This is a little gem of a scfi movie. Miaka Monroe really shines. She was really creepy in some parts. I didn't know wether she was good or bad or just crazy. There is alot of atmosphere going on, that really pulls you into this strange hike in the forest. Her boyfriend really has his hands full. This movie also throws some twists at you that will make you cringe in your seat. The alien invasion is beginning in the forest. I figured this was going to be a cliche "couple gets lost in the woods" survival thriller but I was pleasantly surprised with all the twist and turns. Never a dull moment; everything felt exciting and like you couldn't guess what was coming next. This hit almost all the subgenres from slasher to supernatural. The effects were great; seems like it had SFX and some practical effects. This film also has excellent pacing to constantly keep you engaged. It has the same magnitude of symbolism as some other instant classic Alien horrors like "Signs". Would 100% recommend to anyone needing a fulfilling movie night. For sure exceeded expectations. But suddenly, the story takes an unexpected turn that completely shifts the direction of the plot. What seemed like a normal vacation quickly transforms into something far more intense and unpredictable. I really enjoyed how it blends different elements—there are moments of comedy that make you laugh, suspense that keeps you on edge, and even touches of science fiction that give it a surprising twist.
