Audience Member Meh ... ending was stupid Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review linda l It's not a Christmas show for everyone. I did like the dark comedy about a perfect Christmas gathering! It's definitely going to be a cult movie. I'm hoping next year they come out was SILIENT NIGHT part two… if you want to watch something on the Predictable & on the happy side I suggest to watch Elf. For those of you that like a dark comedy with a little horror Added… this show I would highly recommend! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/05/21 Full Review harris r Right from the start I had difficulty hearing the distant dialogue over the loud score. I'm guessing writer, producer and director Will Thorne has never heard of boom mics. Then we have the casting of Bradley Taylor as Mark, who was monotonic, straight-faced, stale and boring, especially compared to his side-kick. I felt he didn't want to even be there. I'm sure part blame goes to Thorne for failure to direct his cast properly. Then we have the slower than a snail-paced 93 min runtime that felt like 3 hours. The story was bland, boring and nothing new - at all, except for the "sidekick" (without giving away any spoilers), of which was ridiculous to begin with. Don't get me started on the plot and technical issues. This film might have been bearable if it was a 15-20 min short, with better directing. Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News [D]irector/screenwriter Will Thorne throws in just enough curveballs to make this London-set crime thriller much less conventional than you'd assume. Rated: 3/4 Jul 9, 2021 Full Review Leslie Felperin Guardian There is a derivativeness about the script that means the big twist is exasperatingly easy to spot early on. Rated: 2/5 Dec 10, 2020 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue There's not much cheer, holiday or otherwise, in this formulaic British thriller that never gains much momentum as either a quick-witted comedy or a violent crime saga. Jan 28, 2022 Full Review John Serba Decider Silent Night is a humble, medium-stakes crime flick with a 51/49 character-to-plot ratio - the tipping point for a recommendation. Oct 26, 2021 Full Review Carey-Ann Pawsey Orca Sound All kinds of fun in the form of dark humour, great cinematography, gritty dialogue, cool music, and solid performances from the cast. Rated: 3/5 Jul 12, 2021 Full Review Alex Saveliev Film Threat As unoriginal as its title, Silent Night gets lost in the sea of its British gangster counterparts.
