David Stratton The Australian There are some intriguing moments, but there’s also a lack of clarity, especially early on. It’s a thankless role for Worthington... Rated: 2/5 Aug 5, 2023 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) It’s an interesting vision from director April Mullen. Rated: 3/5 Jun 9, 2023 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times It asks some pretty remedial questions about freedom and humanity; and it is ultimately too tasteful and earnest to get pulses pounding and minds racing. Jun 2, 2023 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies The stakes never feel as high as they’re meant to. So even though the movie does a good job holding our attention, we never feel the gravity of anything. Rated: 2.5/5 Sep 21, 2023 Full Review David Griffiths Subculture Entertainment Simulant may not have a huge budget but it does have a well-written script that keeps the audience guessing throughout. With believable characters and an ending that will make you stop and think this is one of the most unexpected films of 2023. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 21, 2023 Full Review Roger Catlin rogercatlin.com Dark and well-paced, Simulant never overstays its welcome until the final big confrontation. Eddie O I rarely give out 5 stars but Great movie anything with Robbie Amell is an excellent movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/29/24 Full Review Siyabonga M Movie needed some more budget, it clearly shows. There’s so much lack of motivation and the world feels dead and empty. I mean why would you send one field agent to go retrieve wanted fugitives? Movie is fine, though. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/29/24 Full Review Jason B IMHO this movie deserves a better rating the most give it credit for. Definitely not a blockbuster & award wining movie but also better then anything you would see on SciFy, more like an Indi version of Bladerunner meets Ex Machina. Apparently they didn't have the budget for different outdoor locales as the "present" as well as the flashbacks were filmed in the winter, not a big deal, just something I noticed. The movie was not big on action though it did have a few tense moments. The story focused mainly on the emotional & moral implications of AI/robots. The beginning hopped around more then I would like & the character development could have used more context. Overall the story was good & everything considered a solid movie, worth a watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/26/24 Full Review Campfire B ....a treasure house of sci adventures rolled into a noir setting with heart. Quality acting, script, and production. I wish there was a series of these like the holiday movies because the story has legs, and the characters to begin a great journey forward. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/01/24 Full Review James Slow, bad acting, poor casting. A cheap production with a terrible script. Sam Worthington's performance was particularly cringe worthy. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/25/24 Full Review Peter M This movie is all around terrible. It really doesn't make sense and we have this wanna be Tom cruise main character… Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/24 Full Review Read all reviews
