An unconvincing retreat of The Big Chill, Sing Now lacks empathetic characters and good tunes.

Audience Member As if a mid-life crisis is not annoying enough as a theme, they had to sing about it too! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Never saw this. Someone else did this under my name. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I thought it was entertaining. good fun, feel good time. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Well written dialog with realism and good relation to characters. Funny in a natural way without the usual Hollywood tripe. Lots of faces you'll recognise and they did a great job. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Loved the music in this film. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member A group of college buddies get together to sing at a friend's wedding some years later. They spend a weekend together, reliving the good old days. The Wedding Weekend was not a horrible film, but it wasn't that great. The whole college friends reunite for a wedding theme is tired. It's been done a lot better than this, in the past. The script was cute, but predictable. The singing was good, but not great. Same old same old. Nothing really sets this one apart from the masses. Molly Shannon and Elizabeth Reaser were entertaining, otherwise, the acting was not very good. At some point they forgot this was supposed to be a comedy and started going in a more serious direction, only not very well. That left a bad taste in my mouth. If you are going to do comedy...do so. If you are going to do a dramady....commit to it and make it real with feeling. The Wedding Weekend was lacking that. Don't rush off to watch this one. Marc Savlov Austin Chronicle Rated: 2/5 Oct 18, 2008 Full Review Bill Goodykoontz Arizona Republic Take out all the elements of The Big Chill that made you like that film and keep the ones that annoyed you and you've got The Wedding Weekend. Rated: 2/5 May 15, 2008 Full Review Tasha Robinson AV Club The title is the least of the film's problems; far more significant is its failed attempt to make its protagonists endearing instead of obnoxious. Rated: D+ Apr 28, 2007 Full Review Jason Heck Kansas City Star It's an inoffensive and unchallenging little film. Rated: 2/4 Jun 6, 2008 Full Review S. Jhoanna Robledo Common Sense Media Indie buddy comedy hits too many wrong notes. Rated: 2/5 Oct 22, 2007 Full Review Ted Murphy Murphy's Movie Reviews The cast veers from overly theatrical (Rogers) to amusing (Molly Shannon as Ted's wife Shannon, a woman who speaks her mind without thinking about the consequences) to spot on (Harbour, DeWitt, Basche, and several others).
