Siddhant Adlakha The Juggernaut While it lacks the sheen of your average Pixar film, it has a free-flowing verve and vigor Hollywood studios could only dream of replicating. Chinoy uses gazes, glances, and mischievous glimmers to write a character piece as detailed as any feature film. Dec 23, 2020 Full Review John Serba Decider It's a bold choice to tell a child bride's painful story with animation, a method opening itself to audiences of all ages - and it's young audiences who need to see it the most. Aluna U *Sitara: Let Girls Dream* powerfully addresses child marriage through a silent yet emotionally rich story centered on Pari’s dreams and family struggles. Using expressive animation and sound, it conveys deep emotional conflict despite some inconsistencies in the father’s character motivation. Overall, the film delivers a meaningful message with delicate storytelling that resonates and raises awareness effectively. This film was simple, yet powerful, highlighting the real-world issue of child marriage. I appreciate films that give a glimpse into other cultures and traditions I’m not familiar with. I liked the animation style and the way the film depicted Pakistani culture. The director, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, is also slated to direct an upcoming “Star Wars” movie, which will bring back Daisy Ridley as Rey, so I want to start becoming more familiar with her filmography to see how she might handle a star wars film.
