Audience Member What the flip? This isn't a Micheal Moore movie. It's a Micheal Moore tour. I didn't know what to expect but man it's not this. I have no problem with Micheal Moore touring but they could've done it in a more engaging way like his other movies. What's funny watching this in retrospect is that the whole point of this movie didn't succeed entirely. Yes they got younger voters to vote for the first time so that's cool but overall it's just a campaign tour to get voters. I prefer Moore's other movies better. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/23/21 Full Review Audience Member Excellent documentation of how Michael Moore's activism ahead of the 2004 election boosted turnout among the 18-30 age demographic. Had anyone paid attention to this, Democratic party higher-ups might have recognized how important it was to avoid rigging the 2016 primaries against that group's favorite candidate, Sen. Bernie Sanders. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review jeremy y Michael moore is a fraud Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review david f Focuses a bit too much on Michael Moore but what do you expect in a Michael Moore movie? It's about his efforts to get people to vote in the 2004 election so George Bush wouldn't get elected. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Dragged on for too long, would have worked better in a 10-20 minute piece. There are some enjoyable moments like Eddie Vedder playing a Cat Stevens song, but other than that it seems like a vanity project. Liam Lacey Globe and Mail Slacker Uprising leaves a hollow feeling, in contrast to the determinedly upbeat self-congratulatory message. Rated: 2/4 Sep 26, 2008 Full Review Scott Tobias AV Club Whatever its intent, this interminable 96-minute highlight reel plays like Moore's homage to himself. Rated: D+ Sep 26, 2008 Full Review Owen Gleiberman Entertainment Weekly Moore's studentmobilization drive now looks prescient, but he should have kept this piece of wallpaper agitprop on the shelf. Rated: D Sep 24, 2008 Full Review Michael Atkinson In These Times Slacker Uprising is empty as protest satire goes, and it lends a cudgel to those who think Moore does what he does for the sheer sake of ego and power. Apr 18, 2016 Full Review Felix Vasquez Jr. Film Threat Decide for yourself what "Slacker Uprising" is and what the rewards were, if any; I had a real love-hate relationship with it... Rated: 3.5/5 Oct 12, 2008 Full Review Christopher Long Movie Metropolis It doesn't offer enough fresh material either to inspire or to infuriate.
