Kazuo Ikehiro, director of Monkey Magic; Trail of Blood; Fearless Avenger; Broken Swords; Zatoichi 6, 7, and 14; Gan, and Young Boss, delivers Slaughter in the Snow. The storyline for this picture was the best of the trilogy. The story of the man dying from tuberculosis, and the man assigned to be killed by him saving him, was remarkable. The acting was solid and everyone delivered believable performances.

The Mikogami trilogy was a trilogy I was dying to see after reading the synopsis on the AnimEigo website. I purchased all three of these pictures at a decent price off eBay. The films were okay and entertaining, but they were not as good as the Zatoichi, Samurai, or Lone Wolf and Cub series. I would honestly say this was the best film in the series. This series is worth watching, but only after seeing the three series referenced above.
