John Pym Sight & Sound Ivory observes these youthful shenanigans with a notably engaged sympathy. Jan 17, 2020 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times The first thing I feel is a genuine dislike for the people in this film... I dislike them because they are stupid and they have occupied my time with boring conversation. It is more than that. They are not simply stupid. They value stupidity. Rated: 0.5/4 Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Rene Jordan El Nuevo Herald (Miami) I liked its honesty, ferocity, sophistication, and even its laziness. Audience Member ***Due to the recent RT changes that have basically ruined my past reviews, I am mostly only giving a rating rather than a full review.*** Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member FLAWED adaptation of a book that would have been hard to adapt in the right hands (Andy Warhol owned the rights before he died). Peters is far too old to be playing the part, but actually, you forgive that fact quickly. What you do not forgive is some of the poor acting from some of the supporting players (Madeline Potter is awful). Some glimpses of Merchant Ivory expertise, but Merchant Ivory are not the right people doing this movie. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is defining. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Somehwat disappointing. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I wanted to like this more because of some of the cast in it that I like. But when it came down to it, the movie had nothing to offer. I kept wondering what the point of this was. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member I haven't seen this movie in years, but so many parts of it have always stuck in my head. The boyfriend's outrageous lies. Bernadette Peter's sheer awesomeness. My favorite Supremes song. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews
