Audience Member Slim Till Dead is neither efficient as serial killer thriller or social satire, when editor Marco Mak pairs up with his old mentor Wong Jing. Which of course should surprise no one, but Mak has occassionally been known to deliver, for example in Dancing Lion, his hilariously offbeat collabo with Francis Ng, in which the duo poked fun at certain parts of Hong Kong culture. Nothing in Slim Till Dead has the same charm or true ring to it of the latter, but it does have some decent comedy, however, like the slightly amusing domestic disputes between Anthony Wong and the great Sharon Tang.
