Sliver is an absurd erotic thriller with technobabble and posits prime Sharon Stone as a professional book nerd.

Michael Sragow The New Yorker Sharon Stone goes cold in this botched thiller-maybe from the effort of pretending that her character, a beauteous book editor, would fall for the preening young computer wizard played by the vacant-and-proud-of-it William Baldwin. thiago s Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/10/25 Full Review Zom L Sliver is a stylish erotic thriller that tries to ride the wave of Basic Instinct's success, and while it has its moments, it ultimately lands somewhere in the middle. On the positive side, the film nails its glossy, voyeuristic atmosphere. The high-rise setting, with its sleek and isolating architecture, creates a strong sense of unease-perfect for a story about surveillance and obsession. Sharon Stone is magnetic as always, effortlessly commanding attention even when the script doesn't do her many favors. The cinematography is polished and moody, capturing both the glitz of New York high life and the darker undercurrents lurking behind closed doors. But the narrative never quite gels. The mystery around the killings feels thin, predictable, and sometimes clumsily handled, with more emphasis placed on surface-level style than substance. The supporting characters lack depth, William Baldwin himself is ridiculously over the top in the final movements of the movie, which can make for unintentional humor, and the story never digs into its themes of voyeurism, control, and paranoia in a truly satisfying way. It wants to be provocative and intelligent, but it often slips into pulp territory without fully embracing it. That said, the sex scenes are undeniably hot. Sharon Stone's chemistry with William Baldwin carries these moments, and the erotic tension feels both passionate and risky. The voyeuristic angle adds another layer, making the audience complicit in watching-just as the characters are watched in the building. These sequences have an intensity and erotic charge that elevate the film beyond its otherwise uneven plotting. In the end, Sliver works best as a guilty-pleasure thriller-slick, sexy, and intriguing, but not particularly deep. If you're looking for a polished, erotic time capsule of early '90s Hollywood thrillers, it delivers. If you're looking for something more substantial, you'll probably walk away unsatisfied. It's basically sexy and stylish, but narratively thin. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/10/25 Full Review Ed . Crap. But stylish and enjoyable.
