Feb 11 22 years have passed since the original ‘Snow Day’ came out Critics didn’t love it but it stayed a fan favorite for many kids since it was a Nickelodeon movie and it became a box office hit not to mention that Hoku song Now Paramount + remakes this for the new decade with the exact same premise The biggest change is that this is a musical There is a large cast of unknowns but the only recognizable face is Jerry Trainor from iCarly As a whole the biggest issue with this version is the time jump, it’s very odd they would start this 1 year after the snow day hit People can be on the fence about the songs whether they’re necessary or not The one thing that is better are the actors and their characters, I truly found them more likable and appealing than the older ones maybe because they were better defined This version moves by very fast too, this has to be the shortest snow day in history So yes maybe it wasn’t necessary to remake this and the songs could’ve been excised but the filmmakers did a lot of things better than the 2000 film I’ll admit It makes for a breezy viewing for kids and adults on their snow days See more Pringle O 04/15/2023 Absolutely the greatest movie of all time, no doubt. It's not as strange choice for a musical as a zombie apocalypse was. Also, the first movie had Chevy Chase as a crazy weatherman. But it's a unneeded but fun remake with some annoying characters that has the same plot as the original. See more paytonthompson20 12/31/2022 this movie took what little there was good in the original and took it out in exchange for bad dance numbers and a terrible cast. the only 2 honorable mentions were the "best friend" Lane played the character very well.
